Growing up in a small town, sports (volleyball & track) kept me busy most days. I was never the stand-out on the team but enjoyed the community aspect that came with team sports. I didn't realize how much I missed the competitive aspect of sports until after college when I found CrossFit. I found that spark again and immediately fell in love with every aspect. Eight months later, I knew I wanted to help others like the coaches I looked up to. Since becoming a coach back in 2015, I have learned that fitness isn't always going to look perfect, but it's at those messy times in life that it might be more important.
Faced with a cancer diagnosis in 2017, I feared the unknown and didn't know how or if I could make it through. This was one of my biggest fears in life and here I was, with the choice to run or face it head-on. I learned that I was capable of more than I thought. Every time self-doubt comes up in my life, I remember that I have already faced one of my biggest fears.
My purpose and motivation as your coach is to help you see that no matter what stage of life you're in or what you're going through, you are capable of more than you think. Fitness is just as much a mental tool as it is physical. I want to serve anyone looking to improve their health and be a stronger human being. We never know what life will throw at us, but through fitness, you can build up a line of defense against anything that might come your way.
